Digital TV Labs is a fast-growing test and consultancy company, operating in the dynamic digital TV arena. We have test centres in the UK and Hong Kong. Our customers are major consumer electronics companies and broadcasters based all over the globe who come to us for our expert knowledge of testing DVB receivers and for certification services.
We are currently recruiting an experienced DTV Test Engineer to work at our central Bristol offices.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for running automated test software that will run on TV receivers and analysing the results.
This role will report into the project manager. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate flexibility in their approach and be willing to spend time on a variety of tasks including configuring and trouble-shooting the test system, carrying out automated and manual test runs, creating test reports, analysing test results and documenting the test processes.
Required Experience
- Graduate with good, relevant technical degree
- Familiarity with configuring and trouble-shooting IT equipment setup. Ability to follow instructions and improve documentation of configuration processes as necessary
- Ability to execute test software within the complex test execution frameworks
- Can methodically follow test steps and create test reports for our customers
- Demonstrable experience of problem solving, including the ability to investigate failing test cases and diagnosing the root cause of the failure
- Professional programming experience in one or more languages, to enable reading and understanding of the test case source code when investigating failing tests
- Experience of digital TV technology, such as DVB, IPTV, video streaming, is a bonus, but not required
- Experience with developing on Linux, and using the Linux command line
- Exposure to the wider software development lifecycle, such as good testing practice and software debugging

- Willing to relocate to Bristol
